On the 23rd June 2010 (8:30 am to 10:00pm), the National Space Agency (ANGKASA) with cooperation of Curriculum Development Centre, the Ministry of Education has successfully organized the Astronomy Workshop for Primary School Teachers at the National Planetarium. The workshop was organized to provide science teachers about the basic knowledge of astronomy in accordance to the school syllabus, with the hope that they acquire sufficient knowledge and preparing them in the field of astronomy for enhancement of their teaching activities in school.

NSC’10 Poster Contest is now open for submission... submit before 30 August 2010!

| | | On the occasion of the National Space Challenge Prime Minister’s Trophy 2010 (NSC’10), to be organized by the National Space Agency (ANGKASA), children aged from 8 up to 11 years old (before 30 November 2010) are invited to design a poster based on the theme: “Space Technology to Help the Earth”
This Poster Contest encourages children to expand their imagination and explore how space technology helps us every day. It also contributes to the celebration of the International Year of Biodiversity in 2010. To assist teachers to introduce this topic, a Power Point presentation can be downloaded free from the VSSEC website. |

| Semalam, sebahagian penduduk malaysia telah berpeluang menyaksikan satu fenomena langit malam yang jarang berlaku iaitu gerhana bulan separa dimana separuh dari bulan penuh kelihatan oren dan coklat. Keadaan ini berlaku kerana permukaan bulan yang memantulkan cahaya matahari ke bumi memasuki bayang bumi. Bagi penduduk di semenanjung, gerhana dapat dilihat sejak bulan terbit hingga ia keluar dari bayang gelap bumi sekitar jam 9 malam.

In conjuction with the Partial Lunar Eclipse, National Space Agency (ANGKASA) will be organizing a Partial Lunar Eclipse Observation Program at the Main Entrance of National Planetarium on 26 June 2010 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.. Public are invited to observe the phenomena through a few telescopes that will be setup during the event. The first 300 visitors attending the program will be given a tin of Eclipse Mints, contribution by The Wrigley Company (M) Sdn. Bhd.. Please click here for further information.
